How should my child cover up?

In addition to using sunscreen on exposed areas, your child should cover up with:

  • Sun protective clothing in light colours
  • Wide brimmed hats
  • Sunglasses.

How else can I keep my child protected from the sun?

Teach them to seek out shade, especially between midday and 3pm when the sun is at its hottest and UV radiation is highest.

Also remind them of the importance of reapplying sunscreen every 2 hours, or immediately after swimming and physical activity.
