Sizzledodge’s ‘Top Tips’ for
parents protecting their families
1. Splodge enough
Always use an average of 35ml sunscreen per person (about 7 teaspoons).
2. The 20 minute rule
Always give sunscreen 20 minutes to absorb before going outside.
3. Re-apply, re-apply, re-apply
Apply sunscreen every two hours (and more often after swimming, using a towel, or when sweating).
4. Get covered
Sunscreen is only part of staying sun safe, so always get extra protection from wide-brimmed hats, long-sleeved shirts and sunglasses.
5. Stay cool
The day is usually at its hottest between midday and 3pm, so find shade during these hours.
